Characteristics:
96/384-well UV plate can let 80% , 260/280nm wavelength of UV light through its flat bottom interface, using this characteristic to quantify the content and purity of DNA and Protein.
A typical 96-hole transparent plate is made of PS、PC or PET, when the light source passes through a 260nm filter and the filtered light beam irradiates the interface of PS、PC or PET, the short wavelength ultraviolet light is absorbed by the medium and can not pass through the interface, so it can not be used as a UV plate.
UV Plate quantifies the amount of DNA and Protein in a sample:
When short-wavelength ultraviolet light at 260 nm strikes a DNA sample, it is absorbed by the DNA molecule. The penetration of ultraviolet light decreases, and the Optical Density measured by the opposite photometer rises in contrast, by measuring the value of the optical density, the software program can calculate the actual DNA content. When a Protein sample is exposed to 280 nm short-wavelength ultraviolet light, it is absorbed by the Protein molecule. The transmission of ultraviolet light decreases, and the Optical Density measured by the opposite photometer increases in contrast, by measuring the value of the optical density, the software program can calculate the actual content of DNA.
